Back in the water

Things are still moving slowly in Carrabelle, but we continue to get more moved in while the engine repairs progress. Holiday schedules are making it difficult to get the last remaining parts. Weather (winds) would be keeping us put at the moment anyway so we've taken the opportunity to make some trips back to Tallahassee, visit with family in town for the holidays and entertain a few visitors down to the boat as well. Kaylee has enjoyed showing some of her friends around the boat and getting to show off her room.

Back in the water at the working dock at Dockside Marine. This has made it nice for moving all our stuff in.

And this is what moving in can do to the boat! I'll try to get an after picture so you can see what is SHOULD look like.

Ken/Danielle:

The boat is looking great. Hopefully, that rebuilt engine is purring like a kitten and is good for the long haul down through the Caribbean. The weather window continues to look problematic. I was down on my boat a few days ago and it was straining at its mooring lines in 30 mpg gusts. I would not want to be in the gulf in this weather.

Keep the updates coming and remember I'm available to crew if you need me.

Roger

Thanks Roger. Things are starting to come together. The engine is running well and the weather looks like it will give us a break Monday, although a COLD one. We are shooting to leave Carrabelle Monday morning and shoot for Tarpon Springs, Clearwater or St. Pete by Tuesday evening.

Hi Ken, the boat and preparations look great. The solar panel installation looks strong and should provide a substantial amount of power. Looking forward to following your trip. Paul

Thanks Paul! We are loving the extra energy from the solar panels although the last few weeks have not shown us what we think they are truly capable of due to lack of any strong sunshine. We are aiming for a Monday morning departure and although the temperature will be much colder than we'd like, it is supposed to be bright sunny :-)
